[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] Samsung Electronics announced on the 27th that it will launch the 'Odyssey Neo G9,' the industry's first curved gaming monitor to apply Mini LED, in major markets worldwide including South Korea on the 29th.
The Odyssey Neo G9 (model number S49AG950) is a 49-inch product featuring a 1000R curvature, a 32:9 ultra-wide aspect ratio, and dual QHD (5120x1440) resolution.
This product uses 'Quantum Mini LED,' which is 1/40th the size (in height) of conventional LEDs, as the light source, the same as Neo QLED TVs. It also incorporates Samsung's proprietary image quality technologies 'Quantum Matrix' and 'Quantum HDR 2000,' making it a gaming monitor boasting the highest specifications currently available.
Quantum Matrix controls screen brightness in 4096 steps (12-bit) and supports an industry-leading fixed contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. Through 2048 local dimming zones, it delivers more detailed and perfect black details.
Quantum HDR 2000 has been certified for a peak brightness of 2000 nits by the global standards certification body VDE (Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker) in Germany. It also applies HDR technology, recognized as the next-generation video standard, which renders dark areas darker and bright areas brighter on the screen, providing vivid image quality.
Additionally, the Odyssey Neo G9 offers a fast response time of 1ms GTG and a high refresh rate of 240Hz, delivering a screen free of afterimages and stuttering. It supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible, reducing screen tearing caused by communication issues between the PC and monitor during high-spec gaming.
Other gaming-related convenience features include ▲ HDMI 2.1 ▲ DisplayPort 1.4 ▲ 'CoreSync,' which automatically recognizes screen colors and matches the lighting and colors on the front and back of the product ▲ 'Auto Source Switch+,' which automatically switches to the connected device's screen when connecting IT devices such as game consoles or turning on the power.
The ergonomic design also stands out. It supports ▲ HAS (height adjustment) ▲ Tilt (up and down angle adjustment) ▲ Swivel (left and right rotation) ▲ wall mounting, allowing users to adjust the monitor as they wish.

The Samsung gaming monitor Odyssey Neo G9 49-inch has a retail price of 2.4 million KRW.
This product will be exclusively sold through Kakao Makers starting on the 29th, and from August 9th, it will also be available at Samsung Digital Plaza nationwide and open markets.
