Miryang-si Installs Large Shade Screens at Screening Clinics to Protect Citizens and Medical Staff from Heatwaves

Miryang-si Installs Large Shade Screens at Screening Clinics to Protect Citizens and Medical Staff from Heatwaves Miryang-si, Gyeongnam installed a large 252㎡ sunshade to protect citizens visiting the screening clinic and medical staff from the heatwave.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] On the 26th, Miryang City in Gyeongnam announced that it installed a large 252㎡ sunshade to protect citizens and medical staff visiting the screening clinic from the heatwave.

With the recent surge in confirmed cases due to the 4th large wave, the number of related tests has also skyrocketed, causing citizens visiting the screening clinic to suffer from the dual hardships of anxiety over the spread of COVID-19 and the heatwave.

For medical staff, although tents were installed at the clinic to block the sunlight, it was still difficult to endure the heat despite wearing ice vests over protective suits and staying in front of fans due to the continuous heatwave and increased humidity.

Accordingly, the Miryang City Health Center is making every effort to prevent damage from the heatwave by installing large sunshades at the screening clinic and civil complaint waiting areas, and by additionally installing air conditioners and fans.

Health Center Director Cheon Jae-kyung said, "I express my gratitude to the medical staff at the screening clinic and vaccination center who are silently working for quarantine even in the heatwave," and added, "I ask citizens to strictly follow quarantine rules to wisely overcome both the heatwave and COVID-19."
