[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University SW-Centered University Project Group announced on the 26th that it has successfully completed the '2021 Maeseong Middle School AI·SW Energy Club Support' program.
The energy club support held on the 23rd at Maeseong Middle School located in Bitgaram Innovation City was conducted as a program to nurture AI·SW talents essential in future new industry fields.
The SW-Centered University Project Group utilized SW-related expert resources at Maeseong Middle School, which was built with learner-centered spatial innovation.
The 15 students who participated in the program studied for a total of 20 hours, four hours a day, from the 19th to the 23rd of this month.
The program consisted of various hands-on topics such as ▲Understanding and utilizing AI (Artificial Intelligence) and SW (Software) ▲Making Arduino (digital device creation tool) and Raspberry Pi (single-board computer) your own ▲Robot Coding using AI·SW ▲Programming Language ▲DIY autonomous vehicles ▲Autonomous driving coding.
Professor Jo Youngju, in charge, said, “Our students’ abilities are limitless, so spending a week enjoying AI·SW with the students, making and coding autonomous vehicles to move them, and creating future cities to understand and develop smart cities was a valuable time.” He added, “AI·SW is not difficult; it is a very meaningful field that improves people’s quality of life. I hope each student develops it responsibly so that it can always be used as warm and healthy technology for people.”
He continued, “I hope this was an educational time that guided students to grow into talents that meet the trends of the times and the demands of the era and to find their future career paths well.”
Kim Seol-oh, principal of Maeseong Middle School, said, “Our Maeseong Middle School, established in 2020, aims to establish itself as a leading school for AI·SW education within the Gwangju·Jeonnam Innovation City.” He added, “It is very meaningful that we can conduct AI·SW-related educational programs for our students by utilizing the expert resources of the Chosun University SW-Centered University Project Group.”
He also said, “We deeply thank the Chosun University SW-Centered University Project Group and Professor Jo Youngju for leading enjoyable AI·SW education with the students, and we hope that AI·SW-related educational support for our students will continue steadily in the future.”
