Jeju Fire Department Hosts '119 Fire Policy Conference Presentation Contest'

[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters (Chief Park Geun-oh) announced on the 26th that it recently held the '33rd 119 Fire Policy Conference Research Paper Self-Presentation Contest' to activate the voluntary research function of fire stations and promote the development of fire policies.

The 119 Fire Policy Conference is held annually with the goal of improving the quality of fire services through the discovery of creative fire policies and ultimately enhancing public safety.

Due to the spread of COVID-19, the event was conducted via non-face-to-face live streaming (ZOOM video conference) and included presentations of four papers prepared by research teams from each fire station, followed by questions and evaluations from judges and attendees.

The best paper award went to the Seogwipo Fire Station for their research presentation titled "Introduction Plan for Detailed Fire Driving Aptitude Tests to Prevent Traffic Accidents," and the excellence award was given to the Jeju Fire Station for their research presentation titled "A Study on the Introduction of the 119 Situation Manager Professional Qualification (Certification) System."

The best paper will be submitted to the 119 Fire Policy Conference Paper Presentation Contest hosted by the National Fire Agency in October.

An official from the Fire Safety Headquarters stated, "Through this presentation contest, we aim to activate fire research functions and discover practical policies to serve as a foundation for the development of fire services for the public."
