[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] Dozens of owners and customers were caught in a mass arrest by the police at a board game cafe that continued illegal operations in violation of the quarantine guidelines restricting business hours.
The Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced on the 26th that they cracked down on 32 people, including employees and customers, at a board game cafe in Bongcheon-dong, Gwanak-gu, for violating the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
The police received a report at 11:07 PM on the 25th that "drug use is suspected" and forcibly opened the locked entrance of the establishment. Upon entering, they found groups of 7 to 8 people seated around four tables. The search revealed no drug-related offenses.
A police official stated, "We plan to notify the local district office of the violation of the gathering ban by the apprehended customers and others."
