[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The Korea Road Traffic Authority announced on the 26th that the application period for this year's "Road Traffic Accident Appraiser" qualification exam will begin on the 2nd of next month. The exam date is September 5th.
The Road Traffic Accident Appraiser qualification exam was established to produce experts who scientifically analyze traffic accident investigations to accurately identify the causes of accidents and minimize disputes between parties involved. Anyone aged 18 or older can apply regardless of educational background.
The Road Traffic Accident Appraiser certification has been recognized as a private official qualification by the National Police Agency since 2007, and over 4,900 individuals have been certified to date. This specialty involves scientifically analyzing data collected from traffic accident site investigations and preparing appraisal reports.
Holders of this qualification receive additional points when applying for new positions at the Korea Road Traffic Authority and are eligible for qualification allowances. Additionally, police officer applicants receive extra points (4 points) for new recruitment and promotion points (0.3 points). Korea Expressway Corporation, some automobile insurance companies, and mutual aid associations provide certain benefits such as qualification allowances to employees holding this certification.
Last year, due to COVID-19, those who were exempted from the second exam after passing the first exam (2019 first exam passers) will be given a pre-registration period (August 1st) to facilitate application convenience.
