Koala Korea Entry Commemoration, Showroom Operated for 6 Months to Connect with Consumers

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Australian home furniture company 'Koala' is celebrating its entry into the Korean market by opening an experiential showroom on Garosu-gil in Seoul and unveiling three new mattress models.

The Koala pop-up showroom, opening on the 26th in Sinsa-dong, Garosu-gil, Seoul, is an experiential space where consumers can see and experience the Koala brand and products, which are primarily based on an online store. The showroom displays Koala’s lifestyle vision at a glance, with key products such as mattresses, bed frames, and bedding in the bedroom furniture section, as well as living room furniture lineups including sofas, sofa beds, and coffee tables arranged by space. The Koala pop-up showroom will operate for six months until January next year and will hold on-site events for visitors.

Along with its entry into the Korean market, Koala is launching three new mattress models. Since the brand’s establishment in Sydney, Australia in 2015, Koala has continuously researched comfortable and highly satisfying sleep, and the results are reflected in this new product lineup. All three models feature ‘Zero Disturbance’ technology that absorbs shocks to minimize movement, preventing disturbance to nearby people or objects.

Additionally, all Koala mattresses have a reversible top comfort layer, allowing consumers to use both sides of the comfort layer, each with different firmness levels, according to their preference. Koala mattresses have also been certified by CertiPUR-US®, confirming low emissions of volatile organic compounds and the absence of harmful chemicals.

Koala mattresses use a cover made of Tencel™ Lyocell material on the surface, providing excellent thermal breathability to maintain optimal body temperature and ensure comfortable sleep. A 7-centimeter double-sided comfort layer is applied on top, allowing consumers to compare both sides of the comfort layer to find the firmness that offers the best comfort for them.

The Koala Calm mattress uses COOLMAX® fibers on the surface that absorb moisture and dry quickly, helping to achieve comfortable and deep sleep. The 7-centimeter double-sided comfort layer with an open-cell structure is combined with a 1-centimeter thick quilted plush cover to help users wake up feeling refreshed. Multi-layer zoning technology secures air holes to facilitate efficient heat dissipation and enhance support.

The Koala Soulmate mattress is the most premium quality product in the Koala mattress lineup. The mattress surface uses Sensapole® PCM (Phase Change Material) that absorbs, stores, and releases heat to maintain an optimal temperature during sleep. Additionally, the foam designed in a spring shape is divided into five sections to evenly distribute pressure on different body parts, helping maintain proper sleeping posture. Bamboo charcoal memory foam is added to enhance antibacterial and moisture control functions.
