[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] North Korean media has strongly criticized the Tokyo Olympic homepage map, which marked Dokdo as Japanese territory, day after day.

The external propaganda outlet 'Ryomyong' pointed out on the 25th in an article titled "Criminal Acts Even Exploiting the Sacred Sports Stage," stating, "Recently, Japan's historical distortion and territorial seizure attempts have become more severe in light of the Tokyo Olympics."

The media especially mentioned Japan's repeated claims of sovereignty over Dokdo in the Defense White Paper released on the 13th, ten days before the Tokyo Olympics opening, and the far-right groups waving the Rising Sun flag and protesting in the Olympic Village, calling it "a cunningness and shamelessness that are Japan's unique chronic bad habits."

It continued, "Japan regards the Olympics, a stage where the world's attention is focused and athletes from five continents gather, as an unparalleled opportunity to revive militarism."

Furthermore, "Japan, holding the Olympic flag in one hand and waving the Rising Sun flag with the other while loudly proclaiming 'Takeshima,' has revealed to the world through their shameless behavior that they are more dangerous destroyers of peace and shameless than malignant viruses," it added.

In another article on the same day, the media stated, "Dokdo is not an ownerless land that anyone can claim sovereignty over," and said, "(Japan) is trying to create a pretext and justification to provoke territorial disputes by persistently instilling in its citizens the perception that Dokdo is 'Japan's stolen territory.'"
