[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] Samsung Electronics announced on the 25th that it will sequentially launch the 85-inch lifestyle TV 'The Frame' starting in the domestic market on the 26th and then worldwide.
Reflecting consumer trends favoring ultra-large screens, Samsung has strengthened The Frame lineup by adding the 85-inch model to the existing 32, 43, 50, 55, 65, and 75-inch sizes.
In addition to The Frame 85-inch, Samsung plans to actively target the ultra-large and ultra-premium market in the lifestyle TV segment with 'The Serif' 65-inch, which began sales last week, and 'The Premiere,' a projector expandable up to 130 inches.
The Frame is a lifestyle TV that can display artworks or photos on the screen like a frame when not watching TV. Through the 'Art Store' feature, users can enjoy over 1,500 artworks provided by more than 40 famous museums and art galleries worldwide in 4K QLED quality.
The 2021 model of The Frame is nearly half as slim as the previous version, fitting well in various spaces, and includes a wall mount and a basic stand so it can be hung on the wall like a picture frame.
The frame-style bezel comes in white, teak, brown, and beige colors and can be easily and conveniently replaced with a magnetic attachment method.
The domestic retail price of The Frame 85-inch is 6,690,000 KRW.
