Three Bows at Jeonju Geumsansa Cheoryeong Memorial Hall
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Governor Lee Cheol-woo of Gyeongbuk and his wife visited Geumsansa Temple in Gimje-si, Jeonbuk on the 24th to pay their respects to Venerable Wolju, who passed away on the 22nd.
Governor Lee and his wife Kim Jae-deok arrived at Geumsansa Temple around 1 p.m. and performed three bows at the memorial altar for Venerable Wolju, set up in the memorial hall for the Joseon Dynasty monk Cheoryeong.
After paying their respects, Governor Lee greeted the monks of Geumsansa Temple and then moved to have tea and a meeting with Venerable Wonhaeng, the head of the Jogye Order.
It is known that Governor Lee has had a connection with Venerable Wolju since his time as a member of the National Assembly.
Governor Lee said, “Venerable Wolju did a lot for the country. That is why I came to pay my respects.”
