[Asia Economy Reporter Tae-min Ryu] The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced on the 24th that the number of new COVID-19 cases in Seoul on the 23rd was recorded at 465. This is 55 fewer than the 520 cases on the previous day, the 22nd, and 97 fewer than the 562 cases reported a week earlier on the 16th.
Among the new confirmed cases in Seoul on the 23rd, 3 were imported cases from overseas, and the remaining 462 were domestic infections.
As of midnight on the 24th, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Seoul stands at 61,128. Of these, 7,501 are currently undergoing isolation treatment, while 50,399 have been declared recovered and released from isolation. There were no additional deaths reported in the past 24 hours, keeping the total cumulative death toll at 528.
The daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul rose to the 300s at the end of last month and has recently been hovering around 500 cases per day.
