On the 24th (Korean time), at the Evian Golf Club (par 71, 6,527 yards) in Evian-les-Bains, France, the fourth major of the LPGA Tour, the Amundi Evian Championship (total prize money $4.5 million), continued on the second day with a 10-under-par performance, dominating the top of the leaderboard (15-under-par 127). Two-time winner Ariya Jutanugarn and Pajaree Anannarukarn (both from Thailand) are tied for 2nd place (12-under-par 130), while Lydia Ko (New Zealand) and No Ye-rim (USA) share 4th place (9-under-par 133).
Lee Jeong-eun6 started tied for 3rd place, one stroke behind, and swept up 10 birdies without a single bogey. Starting at the 10th hole (par 4), she made consecutive birdies on the 11th and 12th holes and a three-hole birdie streak from the 17th to the 1st hole, showing a steep upward curve. She then added a birdie on the 4th hole (par 4) and an impressive four consecutive birdies from the 6th to the 9th holes. She missed the fairway and green three times each, but her 23 putts for the round were outstanding. Leading by three strokes, she is in position for her second career win, her first since the 2019 US Women's Open in June.
Jutanugarn boasted flawless play with one eagle and six birdies. Following her win last week at the '2-person team match' Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational, she has laid the foundation for back-to-back victories. No Ye-rim, who was co-leader the previous day, dropped down after shooting 3-under-par. Brooke Henderson (Canada) is tied for 18th place (4-under-par 138), and world No. 1 Nelly Korda (USA) is tied for 40th place (1-under-par 141), eyeing a move into the top ranks.
