"Thought They Were Chinese" Soaking Feet in a Dirty Basin, Scrubbing with a Sponge... Shocking Unsanitary Video

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] A video showing unhygienic handling of radishes, including soaking feet in a red rubber basin and scrubbing them with a scrubber, has caused shock online.

On the 23rd, a video titled "Radish Handling at a Certain Domestic Restaurant" was posted on an online community.

The released video shows a man washing radishes in a red rubber basin at a location that appears to be behind a building.

Throughout the radish washing process, the man also soaked his feet in the basin. At one point, he took one foot out and scrubbed it with a scrubber, then used the same scrubber to clean the radishes again. Two radishes that did not fit entirely in the basin were lying on the wet floor.

On the right side of the video, radishes that appear to have already been washed are piled in a blue basin. A woman stood by watching this process without intervening.

Netizens who saw this video reacted with shock. Some mentioned the controversial Chinese "naked cabbage pickling" video from March, saying, "Was this filmed in China?" and "It can't be from our country."

However, some netizens speculated that the location in the video is domestic, based on the yellow van license plate and boxes labeled "mu" (radish).

The time when this video was filmed and whether the people washing the radishes operate the restaurant have not been confirmed.
