[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Choyoung] Former Future United Party (predecessor of the People Power Party) leader Hwang Kyo-ahn stated on the 23rd that he plans to play a role in the admission process of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol by saying, "I intend to extend a hand so that there will be no difficulties when Yoon Seok-yeol joins the People Power Party."

Former leader Hwang appeared on SBS Digital Original 'Issue Bla' on the same day and said, "I believe former Prosecutor General Yoon can play a significant role in regime change. It is necessary for him to join the party quickly and unite and refine strength within the party."

He added, "I was first in the Ministry of Justice and prosecution before entering politics. Wouldn't there have been trial and error in that process?" and said, "I intend to help so that there will be no trial and error and that he can settle in well."

Furthermore, he emphasized, "During the past party unification process, many people were relatively hurt while bringing in Bareunmirae Party lawmakers," and said, "For expanding the party's scope, the Taegeukgi rally forces must also be included."

Former leader Hwang registered as a preliminary candidate for the presidential election in March next year, stating on the 21st, "I will set the Republic of Korea, which is heading down the path of national ruin, straight and leap forward as a top-tier advanced country."

When asked, "Who is actively helping you within the party?" he replied, "If I say that, it would be revealing strategies to other preliminary candidates," and added, "However, I think it is very valuable that several candidates join the party to broaden its scope, and I am making efforts in that direction."
