[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] LG Electronics' wireless private screen LG StanbyMe sold out all prepared units in its first pre-order sale.
According to LG Electronics on the 23rd, LG StanbyMe sold all 200 units prepared in advance within one hour during the pre-order sale held via live broadcast on the online brand shop on the 21st. On the same day, 100 units prepared for pre-order sale on Coupang were also sold out.
LG Electronics will sequentially deliver the products to customers who purchased during the first pre-order starting early next month. Additionally, before the official launch next month, a second pre-order sale will be held at the end of this month through online channels such as Musinsa, 29CM, and Today’s House.
An LG Electronics official said, "The concept of this product aligns with the demand for spending time freely in one’s own space, which seems to have attracted customers' interest."
LG StanbyMe is differentiated from conventional TVs; it can be moved to desired locations such as the bedroom, kitchen, or study using moving wheels and can be used for up to 3 hours without being connected to a power source. The 27-inch (approximately 68 cm diagonal) screen can be adjusted left and right, up and down, clockwise and counterclockwise, and the height can be adjusted up to 20 cm.
This product is equipped with webOS 6.0, the same operating system as the 2021 LG TV model, and when connected to the internet, users can access all content available on the latest LG TVs, including LG Channels (providing a total of 144 free channels in Korea), a free channel service.
LG StanbyMe can be directly viewed at 11 LG Best Shops, including The Hyundai Seoul, Lotte Department Store Gangnam Branch, Gangseo Main Branch, Geumcheon Main Branch, Bongcheon Branch, Bulgwang Main Branch, Ssangmun Main Branch, Seocho Main Branch, Incheon Bupyeong-gu Office Branch, Gyeonggi Ilsan Main Branch, and Busan Sasang Main Branch.
