[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] A commotion broke out with fire authorities and police rushing to the scene after a report of an unidentified flying object (UFO) sighting in Muan, Jeonnam.
According to the Muan Police Station and fire authorities on the 22nd, a report was received around 9:30 PM on the 20th stating, "Something resembling an unidentified circular flying object is flying low in the sky near the Muan Fire Station."
The police who received the report immediately dispatched officers to the scene but found nothing. Fire station staff working nearby also reportedly did not hear any unusual sounds or see any flying objects.
The reporter, Kim Jingwi (38), claimed, "A flat and round-shaped light descended from the sky for 2 to 3 minutes," adding, "There was no sound of an aircraft engine, and it was not a drone."
The video provided by Kim shows a flat, round-shaped object emitting light as it moves. The object fell rapidly from the sky toward the ground.
Regarding this, Kim told Yonhap News in a phone interview, "I was driving from Muan-eup toward a farm in Hyeonggyeong-myeon at the time," and added, "The flying object was moving from Hyeonggyeong-myeon toward Muan-eup."
Kim also said, "Just in case, I checked the farm's closed-circuit television (CCTV), and the scene I saw was recorded," adding, "It was so fascinating that I felt it was a shame to have seen it alone."
Meanwhile, it is known that no passenger planes or light aircraft took off or landed at Muan Airport at the time the flying object was reported.
