[Gangjin＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Gangjin County Library will offer a free reading culture program for elementary and high school students in the area from the 26th of this month until the 20th of next month to celebrate the summer vacation.

This reading culture program consists of three courses: ‘Baduk, Now the First Step’, ‘Find Your Own Character’, and ‘This Much Is Nothing’. The number of participants is limited to 7 for Baduk, 7 for Find Your Own Character, and 28 for How to Write a College Admission Self-Introduction Letter.

‘Baduk, Now the First Step’ covers the history and etiquette of Baduk, opening tactics, life and death, endgame techniques, and territory counting. It is held every Tuesday and Thursday. ‘Find Your Own Character’ includes activities such as creating a favorite character and coloring a mini calendar, conducted 12 times during the period. Both programs are only open to elementary school students.

Additionally, ‘This Much Is Nothing’ is aimed at high school students and focuses on how to write a self-introduction letter necessary for college admission. It is held 12 times in total, divided into 4 sessions with 3 classes each during the period.

Library Director Kim Myung-su said, “We will comply with COVID-19 prevention guidelines to ensure a meaningful program,” and added, “I hope students enjoy their time at the library and forget the summer heat during the vacation,” encouraging participation.

Students wishing to participate can register on a first-come, first-served basis through the library website by the 23rd of this month.
