WiseApp Survey... 22.46 Million Users in June Alone
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The shopping app most used by Koreans across all generations is 'Coupang,' according to a recent survey. App analytics service WiseApp announced this after investigating the main shopping app users.
WiseApp surveyed Korean smartphone users aged 10 and above (Android + iOS) and found that Coupang was used by 22.46 million people during the month of June. Following were 11st with 7.5 million users, Gmarket with 5.76 million, Today’s House with 4.94 million, Ably with 4.63 million, Wemakeprice with 4.11 million, Tmon with 4.07 million, GS SHOP with 3.86 million, Zigzag with 3.66 million, and Auction with 3.26 million.
The shopping apps used varied by generation. In particular, the '1020 generation' frequently used fashion platform apps such as Ably, Zigzag, Idus, Musinsa, and Brandy among shopping apps.
Specifically, teenagers used Coupang, Ably, Zigzag, Brandy, Musinsa, and 11st in that order. People in their 20s used Coupang, Zigzag, Ably, Musinsa, Brandy, and Idus in that order. Those in their 30s mostly used Coupang, 11st, Gmarket, Tmon, Wemakeprice, and Today’s House. People in their 40s used Coupang, 11st, Gmarket, Today’s House, Wemakeprice, and Tmon in that order. Those aged 50 and above used Coupang, 11st, Home&Shopping, GS SHOP, Gmarket, and Today’s House.
This survey estimated the number of people who used each shopping app at least once during June, targeting shopping apps on Google Play and the App Store. Secondhand trading apps, delivery apps, Naver, KakaoTalk, and others were excluded from the survey.
