[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] CJ Logistics announced on the 20th that its integrated U.S. subsidiary, 'CJ Logistics America,' has been included in the ‘2021 Green Supply Chain Partners’ selected by the U.S. logistics magazine Inbound Logistics.
Inbound Logistics annually selects 75 exemplary companies that build sustainable global supply chains and practice socially and environmentally friendly logistics operations, awarding them the title of ‘Green Supply Chain Partners.’ Among the companies selected this year are global logistics firms such as DHL, UPS, and FedEx.
CJ Logistics America received high evaluations for discovering sustainable management projects through partnerships with its clients. It has established and manages its own performance indicators across six categories: electricity, natural gas, propane, water, recycling, and waste. Additionally, it measures and manages energy consumption at its facilities across the United States and reduces carbon emissions by building optimized networks through regular customer consultations.
Inbound Logistics particularly praised CJ Logistics America for reducing total travel distance by transporting multiple clients’ cargoes with a single destination via shared trucks. Shared truck transportation is a representative green logistics case that simultaneously achieves cost reduction for clients through increased logistics efficiency and carbon emission reduction.
Ed Bowersox, CEO of CJ Logistics America, stated, “One of the fundamental principles of CJ Logistics America is to be a company that contributes to society, pursuing sustainable growth through collaboration with customers, employees, partners, and local communities,” adding, “We strive to have a positive impact across various fields including economy, society, and environment.”
