Prime Minister Suga bows his head during a press conference on the enforcement of the 'COVID-19 State of Emergency' at the Prime Minister's Official Residence in Tokyo on the 8th. According to Kyodo News, Prime Minister Suga met with reporters at the Prime Minister's Official Residence on the 19th and, in relation to the Blue House's announcement that President Moon will not visit Japan during this Olympics, said, "I am not in a position to speak about the background," while making the above remarks.
Prime Minister Suga commented on the remarks made by Hirohisa Soma, Minister in charge of the Japanese Embassy in Korea, which belittled President Moon or Korean diplomacy, saying, "As a diplomat, it was an extremely inappropriate remark and regrettable."
