'Lee Kun-hee Chairman Donation Luxury Exhibition' Opens with Sold-Out Crowds Ahead

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] The National Museum of Korea announced on the 19th that all tickets for every viewing session of the exhibition "Enjoying Great Cultural Heritage Together - The Masterpieces Donated by the Late Chairman Lee Kun-hee," held from the 21st of this month to the 18th of next month, were sold out within a day of opening the reservation site on their website.


The Lee Kun-hee Masterpieces Exhibition allows entry for only 20 people every 30 minutes starting from 10 a.m., in accordance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines. Normally, admission is allowed until 5 p.m., and on Wednesdays and Saturdays, visitors are admitted until 8 p.m. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, 420 people can view the exhibition, while on other days, only 300 people are allowed.


Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance, so at midnight on the 20th, tickets for the 19th of next month become available for booking.


The situation at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art is similar. Tickets for the "Lee Kun-hee Collection Special Exhibition: Masterpieces of Korean Art" are fully booked until the 1st of next month. The museum admits 30 visitors every hour according to the day of the week. Therefore, the number of visitors allowed to view the exhibition is 330 on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and 240 on other days.


The National Museum of Korea showcases about 70 cultural assets focusing on national treasures and treasures in the "Lee Kun-hee Collection" special exhibition, while the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art reveals about 50 works by representative Korean artists.
