[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Samsung Electronics will launch the 65-inch lifestyle TV 'The Serif' in the Korean market on the 19th.
On the 18th, Samsung Electronics announced that it introduced the 65-inch model to reflect consumer trends favoring larger screens, in addition to the existing 43-, 50-, and 55-inch models. It plans to release the product sequentially worldwide, starting with Korea.
The Serif is a product designed with the participation of the globally renowned furniture designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec brothers, inspired by the letter 'I' in the serif font alphabet.
It is evaluated as a product that harmonizes with any space, breaking the boundary between furniture and TV. When not watching TV, the 'Magic Screen' content designed by the Bouroullec brothers can be used to enhance interior decoration.
By touching the side of the TV with a Galaxy smartphone, the 'Tap View' feature, based on Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, allows smartphone content to be played on the TV screen. This feature is available on Samsung Galaxy Android models 8.1 or higher. It also supports Apple's 'AirPlay 2' service. The price of The Serif 65-inch model is 2,790,000 KRW based on the retail price.
