[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hana Financial Group announced on the 18th that it has published the "2020 Sustainability Management Report," which contains the group's sustainability management strategy implementation over the past year and its environmental, social, and economic management performance.
Hana Financial Group revealed its major ESG activities in the report's ‘ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Highlights’ section, including the establishment of the Sustainability Management Committee, the establishment of the Consumer Risk Management Committee, expansion of ESG finance through support for Korea New Deal finance, issuance of ESG bonds, and investments for future generations.
Additionally, this report selected ESG emerging risks that could have a significant medium- to long-term impact on Hana Financial Group by reflecting stakeholders' opinions, and conducted a materiality assessment to identify critical topics that need to be managed intensively for sustainability management.
In particular, since the declaration of support for the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) in March, the report includes some results of climate change scenario analysis based on TCFD guidelines, with detailed information to be disclosed later through the publication of the TCFD implementation report.
Furthermore, to demonstrate its commitment to responsible ESG management, the report has strengthened the disclosure of detailed activities in Environment (E), Social (S), and Governance (G), which is expected to help all stakeholders, including customers, shareholders, employees, and the social community, better understand Hana Financial Group’s sustainability management activities.
A representative from Hana Financial Group’s ESG Planning Team stated, “Hana Financial Group declared 2021 as the inaugural year of ESG management through the ESG vision proclamation ceremony last April, and plans to focus all the group’s capabilities on creating social value with change and sincerity for future generations.”
