Baekje Museum 'Yellow River and Taishan: Xeno-Culture Exhibition', Shandong Museum 'Baekje Hanseong Period Royal Fortress and Royal Tombs Exhibition'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Hanseong Baekje Museum announced on the 19th that it will simultaneously open a special exhibition showcasing artifacts representing the millennia-old histories of each city, in collaboration with the Shandong Museum of China, to commemorate the Year of Korea-China Cultural Exchange (2021?2022) and the 30th anniversary of Korea-China diplomatic relations next year.
Considering the difficulty of physically exchanging artifacts due to the spread of COVID-19, the exhibition will feature photographs and videos of the artifacts. Visitors can view the exhibition both online and offline in both countries.
The Hanseong Baekje Museum has carefully selected over 70 artifacts representing the vast history from the prehistoric era to the states of Qi and Lu in the Shandong region of China to present the "Yellow River and Mount Tai: Xeno Culture Exhibition." The Shandong Museum will hold the "Baekje Hanseong Period Royal City and Royal Tombs Exhibition," showcasing over 70 representative artifacts excavated from Hanseong Baekje sites.
The exhibition will be operated by advance reservation on the Hanseong Baekje Museum website, strictly adhering to social distancing and quarantine guidelines. The number of visitors will be limited to fewer than 70 people per hour. Exhibition photos and videos can be viewed on the Hanseong Baekje Museum website and YouTube channel.
The "Yellow River and Mount Tai: Xeno Culture Exhibition" can be viewed in the lobby and corridor gallery of the Hanseong Baekje Museum. A 40-inch framed display has been installed in the lobby to allow visitors to vividly appreciate the artifacts through high-definition videos. In the corridor gallery, visitors can see photographs of the artifacts taken by professional photographers.
At the "Baekje Hanseong Period Royal City and Royal Tombs Exhibition" held at the Shandong Museum in China, artifacts excavated from Hanseong Baekje sites such as Pungnap Toseong, Mongchon Toseong, Seokchon-dong Burial Mounds, and Bangi-dong Burial Mounds will be displayed. The exhibition features artifacts from the Baekje royal capital sites that mark the beginning of Seoul's 2,000-year history, including the Chiljido sword, gold earrings from the Seokchon-dong Burial Mounds, and three-legged pottery.
On-site viewing will be available at the Shandong Museum. The exhibition will also be accessible online through the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism website "Huoke Shandong," the Seoul China Cultural Center website, and the social media channels of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Qingdao.
