According to NHK and other foreign media on the 16th, 1,271 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Tokyo on that day. The number has surpassed 1,000 for three consecutive days recently.

As a result, the cumulative number of infections in Tokyo has reached 186,698. One additional death was reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 2,267.
