Middle-aged Challenger Kwon Ok-ja to Compete in Finals on September 7
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 16th that Kwon Ok-ja (64), who challenged the middle-aged category in the ‘2021 National Happiness IT Competition’ hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the National Information Society Agency, has advanced to the finals.
The annual IT competition was held online this year due to COVID-19, with the preliminary round taking place on July 7. In Hamyang-gun, one middle-aged participant and four elderly participants applied for the preliminaries, and a training course was prepared over about two months to steadily prepare for the competition.
Although challenging the national competition was not easy, as a result of showing passion, Kwon Ok-ja, who challenged the middle-aged category, passed the preliminaries and advanced to the finals.
Upon hearing the news, Kwon Ok-ja said, “I considered it a good experience and never expected to advance to the finals, so I am very happy to hear this unexpected news,” and added, “I will do my best during the remaining time for the finals.”
The finals of the ‘2021 National Happiness IT Competition’ are scheduled to be held on September 7 at regional government base testing centers.
