Gathering Opinions on Tourism Belt Revitalization and Anti-Aging Medical Care

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 16th, it was announced that the ‘2030 Sancheong Vision Mid- to Long-term Comprehensive Development Plan Research Project,’ which is being promoted to discover future food sources in Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, is progressing smoothly.
In particular, it is expected that region-specific distinctive projects such as the activation of the Sancheong Tourism Belt connecting the entire county, the Sancheong-type smart farmer training project, and the establishment of an international herbal anti-aging wellness medical tourism hub will be promoted.
According to the county, on the afternoon of the 15th, the 2nd interim report meeting was held in the large conference room with the attendance of Lee Jae-geun, Sancheong-gun governor, Shim Jae-hwa, chairman of the Sancheong County Council, heads of each department and bureau, the working promotion team, and the service performing company.
The Korea Industrial Development Research Institute, which is in charge of the research project, explained the basic direction of the project, task promotion strategy, and promotion roadmap, and collected opinions from related public officials.
This project is being promoted under the vision of ‘My Life’s Charging Station! Neulpum Sancheong (Always Embracing Sancheong, Always Green Sancheong)’ to proactively respond to rapidly changing internal and external conditions such as low birthrate, aging population, and the 4th Industrial Revolution, while discovering differentiated projects.
The county plans to actively reflect the opinions of local residents in the plan through surveys and resident briefings to collect opinions from the residents in the future.
Lee Jae-geun, governor of Sancheong-gun, said, “The county’s greatest strength is the anti-aging industry based on Jirisan Mountain and herbal medicine,” adding, “Based on this, we will discover growth promotion measures and high value-added industries that reflect regional characteristics.”
He continued, “Please do your best to establish various strategies for future food sources through future-oriented projects that match trends, including attracting returnees to farming and rural areas, preventing the outflow of economically active population.”
