Suncheon-si Selected for the '2021 Domestic Exhibition Buyer Attraction Support Project'

‘2021 NEXPO in Suncheon’ Overseas Buyer Attraction and ‘buyKOREA’ Online Exhibition Hall Construction 추진

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 16th that ‘2021 NEXPO in Suncheon’ has been selected for the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA)’s ‘2021 Domestic Exhibition Buyer Attraction Support Project.’

KOTRA, as a business partner and co-host institution of 2021 NEXPO in Suncheon, will participate, providing an opportunity for the event to establish itself as a representative 4th Industrial Revolution expo in South Korea.

The city expects that through KOTRA’s support projects, including attracting overseas buyers and building the ‘buyKOREA’ online exhibition hall, it will pioneer export channels for domestic 4th industrial revolution-related technologies and products and strengthen internationalization capabilities.

The main business event of ‘2021 NEXPO in Suncheon,’ the ‘Export Consultation Meeting,’ will be divided into categories such as 5G, AI, and e-mobility, and will be held from October 16 for five days, attracting overseas video consultation buyers and domestic buyers on-site.

Additionally, about 80 domestic companies are expected to participate in this expo, aiming to attract 40 buyers and achieve a total contract amount of 2 million USD.

A Suncheon city official said, “With this project selection, we will promote regional balanced development by dispersing the 4th industrial revolution-related base industries concentrated in the metropolitan area, gain momentum for the expo’s purpose of presenting Suncheon’s future vision and development direction, and pursuing regional economic development.” He added, “2021 NEXPO in Suncheon will become an optimal customized business platform tailored to the demands of companies and buyers together with KOTRA, and we will prepare it as a practical business-centered expo that can contribute to pioneering the 4th industrial revolution-related market and exports in Suncheon.”

Meanwhile, ‘2021 NEXPO in Suncheon’ will open on October 16, the official opening day of Suncheonman Job World, and will be held for five days at the 4th Industrial Revolution Experience Cluster site next to Suncheonman Ecological Culture Education Center and Suncheonman Job World.
