[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] Gangnam CHA Hospital is expanding and opening its Breast and Thyroid Center.
CHA University Gangnam CHA Hospital announced on the 16th that it has remodeled and opened the Breast and Thyroid Center and has begun full-scale medical treatment.
The newly opened Gangnam CHA Hospital Breast and Thyroid Center has established a close cooperative system not only with the surgery department but also with radiology, pathology, and internal medicine, enabling a 'one-day' system where results are consulted on the same day after examination, allowing for prompt treatment. All wards operate an integrated nursing and caregiving system and have formed a specialized oncology nursing team to enhance the expertise in nursing care for cancer patients.
The Gangnam CHA Hospital Breast and Thyroid Center is led by Director Roh Dong-young, who is considered one of the top authorities in breast cancer research and treatment. He has devoted himself to research and treatment for severe cancer, including being the first in the world to prove the long-term stability of the breast cancer surgical method called 'sentinel lymph node biopsy.' Especially since his appointment as the director of Gangnam CHA Hospital this year, he has been working to establish technology and systems for severe cancer treatment.
In addition, experts such as Yoon Chan-seok, an authority in breast-conserving surgery and thyroid cancer and head of the Breast and Thyroid Center, Professor Park Hae-rin, an expert in Mammotome breast biopsy, and Professor Kim Yu-mi, a specialist in hereditary breast cancer, have joined the team.
Director Roh said, “Breast cancer and thyroid cancer are among the rapidly increasing cancers in women, and at Gangnam CHA Hospital, which is easily accessible, we will do our best to provide patients with fast and convenient treatment through the one-day medical system.”
