Renault Samsung Adds CU Convenience Store Service to XM3 In-Car Payment

Easy Ordering and Pickup Inside the Vehicle

Renault Samsung Adds CU Convenience Store Service to XM3 In-Car Payment

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Renault Samsung Motors announced on the 16th that it will add CU convenience store service functions to the in-car payment service introduced in the 2022 XM3. In-car payment is a simple payment system that allows ordering and receiving products directly from the vehicle.

The in-car payment convenience store service for the XM3 is available at over 1,000 CU convenience stores nationwide. When customers need convenience store products while in the vehicle, they can order them through the mobility service platform app "Owin" on the XM3's navigation screen.

After ordering, customers are provided with directions to the designated convenience store, and upon arrival, they can receive their products inside the car using the "Call Staff" function. The convenience store staff receiving the order will also be informed in real-time of the customer's estimated arrival time, reflecting current traffic conditions. A system update to enable this feature will be implemented soon to allow staff to prepare products in advance.

Products available for purchase through the XM3 in-car payment convenience store service range from simple food and beverages such as triangular kimbap, salads, and drinks to lunch boxes and daily necessities. Additionally, customers can easily check this month's hot issue products, set menus, and discounted items. However, available products may vary by convenience store, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco purchases are not supported.

Kim Tae-jun, Head of Sales and Marketing at Renault Samsung, said, "In a situation where the importance of non-face-to-face services is once again emphasized due to the resurgence of COVID-19, XM3 customers can minimize face-to-face contact when purchasing items at convenience stores through the in-car payment service, as well as save purchase time."
