Apple Launches 'MagSafe Battery Pack' for iPhone 12... $99

[Asia Economy Reporter Joeslgina] On the 13th (local time), Apple unveiled a battery pack that can be easily attached magnetically to the back of the iPhone 12 for convenient smartphone charging, according to the US economic media CNBC. The price is $99.

According to the report, Apple began accepting pre-orders for the MagSafe Battery Pack in the US starting that day. Delivery is expected to begin next week. The MagSafe Battery Pack charges the iPhone at a slower power of 5W compared to the regular MagSafe charger (15W). When connected to a cable while attached to the iPhone, faster charging is also possible.

CNBC described it as "the latest accessory utilizing the wireless charging feature MagSafe introduced last year," and explained, "According to survey results, battery life extension is one of the main features preferred by consumers."

Apple did not disclose the maximum time or charging capacity of the battery pack. However, the media mentioned some product photos and reported that it appears to be 1460 milliampere-hours (mAh) or less than half of the iPhone 12's battery capacity of 3100 mAh.
