According to the Daejeon Police Agency on the 12th, Mr. A (29) was apprehended around 2:40 PM at a motel located in Dong-gu, Daejeon.

Mr. A is suspected of abusing the child to death at his home in Daedeok-gu, Daejeon, in mid-last month and abandoning the body in an icebox.

The child's mother, Ms. B (26), who was involved in abandoning the body, has already been detained on charges of corpse abandonment.

Meanwhile, the police received a suspected child abuse report on the 9th and dispatched officers to the residence of Mr. A and Ms. B, where they found the child's body in an icebox in the bathroom.

At the time of discovery, Ms. B was arrested at the scene, but Mr. A fled before the police arrived. Several signs suspected of abuse, such as fractures and subcutaneous hemorrhages, were found on the body.

The police presume that the deceased child died due to abuse, including assault, by Mr. A and others.

The body will undergo an autopsy at the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death.
