Seongdong-gu, Additional Operation of Temporary Screening Clinics in Seongsu-dong

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) will add and officially operate a temporary screening clinic in Seongsu-dong starting from the 12th.

To proactively respond to the rapid spread of COVID-19 in the metropolitan area, an additional screening clinic will be operated in the Seongsu area, which has a high floating population. The temporary screening clinic at Seongsu Shoe Theme Park (Yeonmujang 5-gil 9-26, Seongsu-dong 2-ga), which had ended on February 10, has resumed operation.

The operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, with 11 staff members including 3 medical personnel deployed. The medical staff work in teams of three, working for 2 hours followed by a 1-hour break to improve work efficiency. From the 14th, six contract workers will be hired to take charge of administrative support.

Meanwhile, the district has issued an administrative order for COVID-19 diagnostic testing targeting instructors (including native speakers), office staff, vehicle drivers, and related personnel working at 289 registered academies in the area, as well as restaurant and cafe operators. To proactively block infections in places closely related to residents' daily lives, since the 8th, an administrative order banning drinking has been enforced in 72 parks within the district and along rivers such as Jungnangcheon and Jeonnongcheon, strengthening social distancing in everyday life.

Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, “We have added a temporary screening clinic in the Seongsu area with a high floating population so that anyone can proactively get tested for COVID-19 nearby.” He emphasized, “At this critical juncture of the 4th wave of COVID-19, please get tested immediately if symptoms are suspected, wear masks indoors and outdoors, refrain from gatherings, and follow quarantine rules such as canceling meetings.”
