Discounts at Large Mart and Delivery Apps... KB Securities Launches 'Able CardⅡ'

[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] KB Securities is launching a check card product that offers discounts at large supermarkets, online shopping, and delivery applications (apps).

KB Securities announced on the 12th that it has newly released the 'Able Card II.' This is a follow-up product to the 'Able Card,' the first check card independently launched by a securities company in 2014. It includes discount benefits for online malls and delivery apps that were not previously available.

Specifically, it offers a 5% discount at large supermarkets (E-mart, Lotte Mart, Homeplus), a 5% discount on online shopping (14 affiliated stores including SSG.COM, Coupang, Naver Shopping), a 5% discount on delivery apps (Baedal Minjok, Yogiyo, Coupang Eats), and a 40 KRW per liter discount on fuel (SK Energy, GS Caltex, Hyundai Oilbank, S-oil). Depending on the previous month's usage, a maximum monthly integrated discount limit of 20,000 KRW (with a 5,000 KRW limit per category) applies. Additionally, users can enjoy waived withdrawal and transfer fees at all bank CD/ATMs nationwide (with a previous month usage of over 100,000 KRW).

Furthermore, if the 'Able Card II' is issued by the 13th of next month and used at least once for a transaction of 30,000 KRW or more by the 31st of the same month, a 10,000 KRW cashback will be provided to the check card payment account.

The card can be issued through KB Securities' Comprehensive Asset Management Account (CMA) or Comprehensive Brokerage Account (stock, fund trading account). Applications can be made via the KB Securities website, the mobile trading system (MTS) 'Marvel' app, or at the nearest KB Securities branch.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, KB Securities fully revamped its high-net-worth client service 'Able Premier Members' and launched an exclusive check card for membership customers. By simply presenting the check card at membership-affiliated stores such as hotels and golf courses, members can use membership services. An unlimited 0.5% cashback service is also provided based on card usage amount.

Lee Hong-gu, Head of WM Division at KB Securities, said, "As the COVID-19 pandemic prolongs and contactless consumption culture spreads, we have been updating related check card products since early this year to meet the diverse needs of customers," adding, "We plan to introduce check card products for the 2030 generation soon."
