[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Starbucks Korea announced on the 12th that it will expand the recruitment of trainees for the second half of 2021 'Restart Support Program' in collaboration with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small Enterprise and Market Service until the 30th of this month.
The Restart Support Program is part of the win-win program related to the 13th shared growth business agreement signed in 2020 between Starbucks and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. It supports middle-aged small business owners in reemployment or cafe reestablishment by providing Starbucks' professional barista training and operational know-how.
About 150 trainees participated in the Starbucks Restart Support Program conducted in Seoul and Busan regions until the first half of this year. Through instructors composed of Starbucks' top in-house coffee experts, trainees took courses on the latest coffee trends and knowledge, effective customer service, beverage quality and hygiene management, and store profit and loss management.
For the second half of this year, the Restart Support Program will adjust the eligible age from 40 and above to 35 and above, and select 130 trainees in Seoul and Busan to expand support for the recovery of more middle-aged small business owners.
Applications can be made through the website, and trainees will be finally selected through document screening and interviews.
