The First Autonomous District Administrative Big Data-Based Real-Time Urban Status Public Service... - Eunpyeong Smart City Creation ... Data, Network, AI as Urban Problem Solutions
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) has been utilizing the 'Smart Administration Integrated Platform,' established in 2019 by integrating high-quality administrative big data with cutting-edge information and communication technology, for district administration operations. Recently, they have newly launched a web service to expand this platform's availability to residents.
The 'Smart Eunpyeong Platform,' opened in early July, links administrative data such as population, finances, and civil complaints accumulated in individual work systems like Resident Registration, Ihyojo, and Saeol, along with big data stored in the Eunpyeong Data Plaza containing 137 types of data, providing services to residents via PC and mobile devices.
This platform is the first among autonomous districts to offer real-time urban status based on administrative big data. It is implemented with map and graphic-based interfaces, allowing residents to easily access the information they want visually.
The core content of the 'Smart Eunpyeong Platform' includes real-time urban status updates on disasters, traffic, and COVID-19, as well as the Eunpyeong Living Map, which provides an overview of facilities by sector. Notably, Eunpyeong Living features four types of resident-focused, practical information: Living Map, Healing Eunpyeong, Household Waste, and Commercial Area Analysis.
Additionally, to support self-employed business owners struggling during the COVID-19 period, the platform provides big data-based analyses of commercial area information by industry in Eunpyeong, enabling more scientific information use for efficient business operations.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, stated, “Eunpyeong is addressing current urban issues by applying D.N.A (Data, Network, AI) technologies to existing fields such as transportation, energy, environment, administration, and housing. We will do our best to create a smart city that dramatically upgrades residents' quality of life.”
