Gangnam-gu Accepts Innovative Job Idea Contest Entries from July 12 to August 20 on Website... Open to All South Korean Citizens
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) is recruiting participants for the "Gangnam Innovation Job Idea Contest," which will present Gangnam-style future job ideas, until the 20th.
The district planned this contest to discover creative ideas in preparation for the post-COVID-19 era, reflecting new industry demands and developing them into job commercialization models.
The contest fields include jobs related to the 4th Industrial Revolution or jobs that can be performed remotely. Customized jobs for different generations such as youth, women, 5060 middle-aged, and elderly, as well as jobs suited to the characteristics of Gangnam-gu, are also contest themes.
Any Korean citizen can participate by applying through the district’s website. The district will evaluate entries by category focusing on understanding of future jobs, creativity, regional suitability, and uniqueness, awarding a total of 5.4 million KRW to 12 winners. The grand prize winner will receive 2 million KRW. The silver prize is 1 million KRW, two bronze prizes are 500,000 KRW each, three encouragement prizes are 300,000 KRW each, and five effort suggestion prizes are 100,000 KRW each.
The results of the first preliminary screening and expert final screening are scheduled to be announced in September. Proposed ideas will be reflected in the district office’s private company discovery policies and job project operations. For more details, please contact the Job Policy Division.
