Songpa-gu, Jumperoo, Baby Cars, and 128 Large Toys Walk-Through Rental Service

After Pre-Reservation, Vehicle and On-Foot Pickup at Songpa Children's Cultural Center... 'Utilizing Contactless Service'

Songpa-gu, Jumperoo, Baby Cars, and 128 Large Toys Walk-Through Rental Service

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is adding a ‘walk-through’ rental service that minimizes face-to-face contact for its ‘Visiting Toy Library’ program, which targets large toys for infants and toddlers.

The ‘Visiting Toy Library’ is a service that delivers and collects large toys, which are difficult to transport directly, to and from homes, providing convenience to residents. However, due to a daily delivery limit (5 cases/day), it has been challenging to meet the rental demands of residents.

Accordingly, recognizing the surge in demand for large toy rentals as home care increased due to COVID-19, the district has introduced and is operating an additional walk-through rental service.

This service allows rental of 128 large toys owned by the ‘Visiting Toy Library,’ including soothers, jumpers, infant cars, and activity gardens.

The service is available to members registered with the Songpa-gu Toy Library. Each household can apply for a visit reservation by selecting the visit date and toy on the Toy Library website.

Pick-up is on the confirmed rental day via individual contact, between 1 PM and 3 PM at the walk-through rental station (1st floor of Songpa Children’s Culture Center).

Returns can be made face-to-face on the scheduled return date.

The district thoroughly disinfects and individually packages all toys before rental. In addition, the Toy Library is regularly disinfected, and staff members comply with preventive measures such as wearing masks to lead efforts in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “Through the walk-through operation of the ‘Visiting Toy Library,’ we expect more users to benefit and for the program to become more active in the future.” He added, “We will continue to develop various childcare policies, including expanding childcare support services, to create ‘Songpa, a city good for raising children.’”
