[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Daechang Solution is expanding its product lineup in preparation for the carbon-neutral era, following its selection as a ‘Green New Deal Promising Company.’
Daechang Solution announced that it presented a best practice case as a leading company at the ‘Green New Deal Promising Company Selection Certificate Award Ceremony’ held on the 9th. The company plans to contribute to the localization and export of key parts through successful R&BD of offshore wind power components.
The ‘Green New Deal Promising Companies 100’ cultivation and support project is a collaborative initiative between the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (hereafter, MSS) and the Ministry of Environment, launched last year to foster small and medium-sized enterprises possessing promising green technologies into global leading companies in response to future climate change and environmental crises. The two ministries plan to discover a total of 100 promising companies by 2022, selecting 31 companies this year and providing up to 3 billion KRW in policy funds over three years.
Daechang Solution CEO Daesung Kim stated during the presentation, “We are developing two items: connection parts for offshore wind turbine tower supports and fixing parts for floating offshore wind turbines,” adding, “We plan to quickly enter the floating offshore wind turbine fixing parts market by utilizing the sales network we have already established.”
He emphasized, “We will expand our existing business sectors to build a product lineup covering the entire energy lifecycle and prepare for a carbon-neutral society,” and added, “Through the MSS Green New Deal support project, we will grow into a global supplier related to offshore wind power.”
Since 2018, Daechang Solution has been supplying waste storage containers to the Bruce Nuclear Power Plant in Canada. Through its subsidiary Cryos, it is currently launching LNG, hydrogen, and ammonia storage and transportation tanks.
