Ned Price, spokesperson for the Department of State, responded on the 8th (local time) during a press briefing to a question about "a hacking attack on a South Korean nuclear research-related center believed to be carried out by North Korea."
Spokesperson Price said he was aware of the related reports and stated, "North Korea's malicious cyber activities threaten the United States, its allies and partners, and countries around the world," adding, "North Korea poses a significant cyber threat to financial institutions."
He further pointed out, "North Korea remains a cyber espionage threat and possesses the capability to conduct destructive cyber activities."
Spokesperson Price emphasized that it is essential for the international community to cooperate in mitigating North Korea's cyber threats.
