[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG Uplus announced on the 6th that it has developed and launched the real-time live lecture service ‘U+ Live Class’ in collaboration with foreign language education specialist YBM Edu.

U+ Live Class is characterized by offering three lecture modes without additional charges. Instructors and students can choose the appropriate mode to open and participate in classes from ▲ ‘Tutoring Mode,’ which allows up to 1,000 participants to connect simultaneously and supports attendance checks and real-time quizzes during class ▲ ‘Discussion Mode,’ where up to 40 participants can see each other’s faces and discuss ▲ ‘Lecture Mode,’ which can accommodate up to 20,000 viewers for real-time lectures.

Additionally, it provides features that improve on the shortcomings of existing remote lecture services, including ▲ up to 4K high-definition video ▲ material and screen sharing ▲ annotation tools ▲ concentration monitoring ▲ real-time chat ▲ learning bulletin boards ▲ small group study ▲ and class recording.

Based on U+ Live Class, YBM Edu newly launched the real-time online lecture brand ‘Bul.La.Bang (Bulgati Oreul Naui Silryeok Live Bangsonggangui, meaning “My Skills Rising Like Fire Live Broadcast Lecture”)’ this month. Through a dedicated website, lectures by star instructors from YBM Language Academy’s nationwide centers are broadcast to overcome the limitations of existing remote lectures and enhance the efficiency of online education.

Going forward, LG Uplus plans to advance the service by reflecting YBM Edu’s requirements. The use of U+ Live Class will also be expanded beyond foreign language education to areas such as vocational training, civil service, and certification exams.

Choi Taekjin, Vice President of LG Uplus, said, “Through collaboration with YBM Edu, a leader in domestic foreign language education, we confirmed the stable system operation and the strengths of education-specialized features of U+ Live Class. We also verified that students overseas can access real-time online lectures with the same quality as in Korea, and we will expand the service to various educational fields.”
