WelGolfLand Leads New Golf Culture... Also Sponsors Screen Golf Tournament

Equipped with Various Facilities Including Outdoor Practice Range and Screen Golf Course
A Prestigious Indoor Golf Practice Facility Representing Northern Gyeonggi

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] 'Well Golf Land,' an outdoor golf practice facility located in Soheul-eup, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, is gaining attention as a new golf complex cultural space. Visitors can enjoy not only golf practice but also screen golf that faithfully reproduces the field, and receive lessons.

Well Golf Land remodeled Pine Golf Land, which it acquired last year, over eight months and reopened in May. It has been reborn as the best-equipped complex golf cultural space in the northern Gyeonggi region.

Well Golf Land has a total of three floors with 57 hitting bays. On the third floor, six outdoor screen golf rooms are operated separately.

The first thing that catches the eye at the practice range is the hitting bay environment. Fans, heaters, and warm air blowers are installed in front of and behind the bays to allow comfortable exercise during both summer and winter. The height of the steel tower was raised by 12 meters compared to before to prevent balls from hitting the net even from the third-floor bays.

The practice mats use triple air cushion mats designed to prevent elbow injuries, allowing players to feel as if they are swinging on real grass. Night lighting is provided by LED floodlights, typically seen in soccer or baseball stadiums, enabling clear observation of ball trajectories even at night.

At the six outdoor screen rooms on the third floor, visitors can enjoy screen golf. The outdoor screens measure the ball’s direction and distance in real time, and a system allowing players to putt directly into the hole cup, just like on the field, has been introduced.

WelGolfLand Leads New Golf Culture... Also Sponsors Screen Golf Tournament

Well Golf Land also sponsors screen golf tournaments to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19. On the 21st of last month, it supported the '1st Soheul-eup Sports Chairman's Cup Screen Golf Tournament' held in Soheul-eup, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, as a sponsor without hesitation.

The tournament’s preliminary rounds are conducted simultaneously at 11 screen golf centers located in Soheul-eup, Pocheon-si, where participants tee off at the same time. The preliminaries run until the 20th, and on the 25th, 20 players who pass the preliminaries will compete for the championship at Well Golf Land’s outdoor screen golf facility.

Jung Yeon-gon, CEO of Well Golf Land and a tournament sponsor, said, "About 100 players participate at each screen golf location during the month-long preliminaries. Since it is held simultaneously at 11 locations, the tournament will have around 1,000 participants." He added, "Along with revitalizing the local screen golf industry, players are actively participating in fundraising events for sharing hope."

Last year, CEO Jung Yeon-gon donated 150 bags of 10kg rice worth 5 million KRW to help vulnerable groups in the region struggling due to COVID-19. For this screen golf tournament, he is supporting approximately 15 million KRW in prize money and prizes with the purpose of revitalizing the local economy and raising funds for hope-sharing events.

CEO Jung Yeon-gon is a professional manager operating Well Tech Co., Ltd. and Gwanghwa Enterprise Co., Ltd., the parent companies of Well Golf Land.

Well Tech Co., Ltd. manufactures the automatic laundry drying rack 'Momeasy' and has begun exploring overseas markets based on its top domestic product competitiveness. The 'Momeasy' brand is gaining popularity in Southeast Asia, including Malaysia and Singapore, as well as in China and Hong Kong. Gwanghwa Enterprise Co., Ltd. specializes in electrical and information communication construction.

Regarding his entry into the outdoor golf practice business, CEO Jung said, "I had been interested in it for two years before the COVID-19 outbreak. As Well Tech, the parent company, was stabilizing, I decided to pursue this business for sustainability."

He expressed his aspirations, saying, "My future goal is to establish a golf practice facility that customers want to revisit and go to, creating a prestigious indoor golf course representing northern Gyeonggi areas such as Uijeongbu, Yangju, and Pocheon. Additionally, my dream is to discover and nurture promising golf talents in the Pocheon region."
