[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Yong Hyein, a member of the Basic Income Party who gave birth to a son on May 8, announced her return by coming to the National Assembly with her baby on the 5th.
On that day at 10 a.m., Rep. Yong visited Kim Sanghee, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, with her baby and had a conversation while holding the baby. Deputy Speaker Kim congratulated her and presented a gift for the baby. During the visit, Rep. Yong urged the prompt passage of the National Assembly’s Child Accompaniment Act.
Rep. Yong then held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office, saying, “As a mother of a 59-day-old baby, I support all women who are pregnant, giving birth, and raising children,” and added, “I will work on legislative activities together with the people to solve the difficulties of pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare.”
She also said, “Basic income became an important issue in this presidential election,” and “The Basic Income Party will also begin discussions for the presidential election.”
Starting from the 6th, she plans to visit the floor leaders of each party to request efforts for the passage of the National Assembly Child Accompaniment Act.
