[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) will operate the 'COVID-19 Secondary Vaccination Center' at the Dongjak-gu Citizen Sports Center in Sindaebang-dong (53 Yeouidaebang-ro 16-gil) starting from the 5th.
The opening of this secondary vaccination center was promoted to conduct rapid large-scale vaccinations in line with the scheduled introduction of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines in the third quarter.
On the 25th of last month, the district conducted a joint simulation training with about 60 participants including ▲ Dongjak-gu Office and Health Center ▲ Military ▲ Dongjak Fire Station ▲ Boramae Hospital ▲ vaccination targets.
Through scenario-based pre-training, improvements such as ▲ creating temporary waiting spaces for those with fever and ▲ clear spatial separation according to the waiting time of vaccine recipients were preemptively addressed.
Additionally, the district completed all preparations for operation, including receiving Pfizer vaccines at the secondary vaccination center on the 2nd, and started vaccinations from the 5th targeting essential social workers under 30 years old.
The secondary vaccination center, built on a total floor area of 940㎡, operates on weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with doctors, nurses, military support personnel, and administrative staff assisting with vaccinations.
Meanwhile, in preparation for vaccinations targeting the general adult population (ages 18-59) in the second half of the year, the district plans to gradually expand the professional staff such as doctors and nurses at the primary vaccination center inside Sadang Sports Complex starting this month.
Changwoo Lee, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, “Through the opening of the secondary vaccination center in Sindaebang-dong, residents who had somewhat limited access to the primary vaccination center in Sadang-dong will be able to conveniently visit and receive vaccinations.” He added, “We will do our best to ensure that about 280,000 residents, which is 70% of the district’s population, complete their second vaccination by the end of November in line with the government’s herd immunity goal.”
