[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Since the enactment of the Yeongcheon City Youth Basic Ordinance on June 8, a youth seller discovery flea market (Byeolbyeol Market) to provide a place for communication and meeting among local youth was held on the 3rd at the Citizens' Hall Plaza.
This flea market was held alongside the 40th anniversary special performance (The Big Concert) celebrating the city's promotion, introducing local youth CEOs and youth activists to viewers and citizens, and providing an opportunity to sell idea products and showcase the activities of youth living in the area.
Youth-made Yeongcheon goods (grip tok, coloring books, etc.), local food (Yeongcheon honey, balloon flower syrup, herbal coffee, etc.), and outdoor busking performances directly participated in by local youth were harmoniously combined to enhance the excitement of the flea market.
Choi Ki-moon, Mayor of Yeongcheon City, said, "This flea market event was an opportunity to somewhat relieve the frustrated hearts of citizens tired from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and economic recession," adding, "I hope the enthusiasm and fresh ideas of the youth will bring a positive synergy effect to the local economy."
