Online Mall 'Social Economy Products Section' Opened, 155 Companies and 400 Products to Join by the End of August

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Homeplus announced on the 4th that it has signed an 'Online Shopping Mall Entry Agreement for Social Economy Enterprises' with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and six local governments to support securing sales channels for regional social economy enterprises.

Through this agreement, Homeplus plans to create a new 'Social Economy Products Section' in its online mall and list products sold at each city and province's 'Social Economy Distribution Support Center.' A total of 197 companies and 1,289 products are eligible for listing, of which 155 companies and about 400 products are planned to be listed by the end of August. The remaining companies and products will expand their listings while adjusting requirements.

Regional social economy enterprises will secure stable sales channels, and Homeplus will not only help the growth of social economy enterprises but also secure a diverse range of products. The Distribution Support Centers will assist with administrative procedures such as product registration and purchase confirmation for social economy enterprises, while Homeplus will strive for the independence of social economy enterprises and public-private cooperation through activities such as reducing sales commissions and marketing support.

Lee Jaeyoung, Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, stated, "This is an opportunity for social economy enterprises to take a leap forward in sales and distribution, which have been the most challenging areas. We will do our best to ensure that the distribution support centers of cities and provinces serve as a focal point for social economy sales channels in the region."

Yeon Taejun, Executive Vice President of External Cooperation and Compliance Management at Homeplus, said, "ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) is an essential value in Homeplus management. Through this agreement, social economy enterprises will expand their sales channels, and Homeplus will secure a variety of products. This agreement will lead to a win-win outcome for social economy enterprises, Homeplus, and related organizations."

Meanwhile, the 'Social Economy Enterprises Online Shopping Mall Entry Agreement Ceremony' is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. on the 5th in the main conference room of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. Vice Minister Lee Jaeyoung, Executive Vice President Yeon Taejun of Homeplus, and officials from local governments and distribution support centers will attend.
