Two Women Found Dead in Daegu Met on SNS and Committed Suicide... Police Say "Fell Without Underwear, Pants Removed"

Two Women Found Dead in Daegu Met on SNS and Committed Suicide... Police Say "Fell Without Underwear, Pants Removed"

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] A teenage girl found dead with bruises all over her body and her lower clothing removed was revealed to have died by suicide, according to police investigation results.

The Daegu Jungbu Police Station announced on the 2nd that two women found dead in an open space near a high-rise officetel building in Pojung-dong, Jung-gu, Daegu, had met through SNS and died by suicide.

According to the police station, at around 5:02 a.m. the previous day, two women estimated to be in their early 20s were found dead in an open space near a high-rise officetel building in Pojung-dong, Jung-gu.

Police investigation revealed that the deceased were Miss A (18) and Miss B (19), who fell from the rooftop of the officetel to the adjacent open space.

At the time, one woman was found with her lower clothing removed, raising suspicions of homicide or involvement in a crime, but the police currently estimate the death was caused by a fall.

A police official said, "Based on on-site investigation and CCTV analysis, it is presumed that both deceased fell from the rooftop of the building."

The police stated, "When they went up to the rooftop, both Miss A and Miss B were wearing both upper and lower clothing. It appears that the loose pants of the one not wearing underwear came off during the fall."

The police currently see no possibility of homicide and are investigating the relationship between the two and the circumstances of their meeting through SNS by questioning people around them.

Meanwhile, on the Blue House National Petition Board, a post titled "Please reinvestigate the serial murder case disguised as suicide where victims were found with their clothes removed" was posted.

The petitioner stated that one of the victims in five cases that occurred since last year is one of the teenagers found in Pojung-dong, Jung-gu, Daegu, the previous day.

The petitioner pointed out, "The common points of these cases are that all victims are female, victims were found with some clothes removed, and investigations were closed with no suspicion of homicide," adding, "Despite all victims being found with clothes removed in secluded places, investigations were quietly closed on the grounds of 'no suspicion of homicide.'"

They continued, "There are many suspicious aspects that make it hard to see these as simple suicide cases," and added, "In fact, the last victim in Jung-gu, Daegu, had bruises all over her body and bleeding in her ear."

Furthermore, they raised their voice, saying, "Saying there is no suspicion of homicide in this case means the victim took off her clothes herself, beat herself all over, and then died. This is not reasonable."

They emphasized, "We demand a thorough reinvestigation of these cases, which were quietly closed as suicides, with the possibility of homicide in mind."
