[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Kim Geonhee, wife of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, dismissed the contents of the so-called 'Yoon Seok-yeol X-file,' which has recently sparked controversy, as "fake" on the 30th, saying, "Falsehoods do not last long." she said.

In an interview with the online media 'Newsbus' on the same day, Kim reportedly showed an agitated reaction, repeatedly saying she felt "unfair" and "upset" about various rumors and suspicions related to the X-file.

The X-file, which circulated mainly in political circles, reportedly contained claims that Kim worked as a hostess under the pseudonym 'Julie' at a nightlife establishment in Gangnam, Seoul, where she befriended prosecutors and met former Prosecutor General Yoon.

Kim refuted this by calling it "an outrageous story," saying, "If I were Julie, there would be people who remember or have seen Julie who worked there. Since I never did such a thing, everything will be revealed over time. This is just someone writing fiction."

She added, "I am originally a somewhat tomboyish and straightforward person, rather a workaholic," and said, "That's why I earned two master's degrees and even a doctorate, lecture at universities, and run a business. Even if I wanted to be Julie, I don't have the time."

She also raised her voice against rumors that she "lived with a promising married prosecutor in the past," saying, "Friends gathered and lived at my house. I don't have time to live with anyone, so how could I live with someone?" and "How scary is the civil servant society in our country? Is that prosecutor a fool? This is a one-sided attack for gain."

Kim then said, "Having lived as a civil servant's wife for about nine years, I get so played by these lies that I view everything with suspicion," adding, "In the end, the victims are all the people. Why should we be fooled by this?"

She continued, "There is always falsehood and truth, but the loudest voice keeps winning. Still, in the end, facts are facts, and the truth will be revealed," she emphasized.

Earlier, former Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae appeared on YTN Radio's 'Hwang Boseon's Start of a New Morning' and responded "I've heard of her" to the host's question, "Have you heard of a person named Julie?" She added, "It's difficult to say everything on the broadcast. Presidential candidates, not only themselves but also their families, relatives, and friends, should all be clean, shouldn't they?"

When asked if she thought the X-file of former Prosecutor General Yoon could become a fatal obstacle, she said, "As Minister of Justice, I have conducted inspections and investigations. The problem was quite serious."

She continued, "Presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol will likely play the political victim card using the X-file, but people should not fall for it. If they look into it again and investigate thoroughly, there will be a time when the public agrees that Chu Mi-ae was right," she said.

Meanwhile, former Prosecutor General Yoon said at a press conference held the day before that he "has not yet seen the document" regarding the X-file but stated, "Anyone running for an elected public office should undergo unlimited scrutiny regarding their ability and morality."

He added, "Such scrutiny should be based on reasonable grounds and facts," and said, "If baseless and one-sided slanders from unknown sources are spread in the market, the public will make their own judgment."
