[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 30th that it will hold the 8th "Human and Culture Forum" on the theme "Our Travel Now: What Is a Good Trip?" at 2 p.m. on the 1st of next month, in collaboration with the Korea Publication Culture Industry Promotion Agency.
The forum will be broadcast live online for anyone to watch. Those who wish to view it can apply for participation on the Humanities 360° website by that day and will receive a URL to access the live broadcast video directly.
The forum will discuss what constitutes a good trip. Writer Jeong Yeoul will present on the topic "The Usefulness of Travel: Reflective Travel on Life, Dreaming of Sustainable Travel." Kim Dayoung, CEO of Hitchhiker, will address "How the Forms of Travel Are Changing." Psychologist Kim Myungcheol will talk about "Travel as Display: The Two Sides of Travel Communication." Afterwards, the presenters will engage in a comprehensive discussion on the theme "What Is a Good Trip?"
The presenters recommended books to think about and read together regarding good travel, including "Guide to Getting Lost," "Airbnb, Designing Brand Experience," and "The Forest That Calls Me."
The "Human and Culture Forum," planned to spread humanistic discourse on our daily lives and socio-cultural changes, first opened on December 3, 2020. This year, it is held online as a live broadcast discussion on the first Thursday of every month.
A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official stated, "As more people plan trips in preparation for the post-COVID-19 era, we hope this forum will encourage people to reflect on why they want to travel and how to travel well."
