Korea Safety Education Association Presents 'Visiting Safety Experience VR' at National Life Safety Forum Seminar

Korea Safety Education Association Presents 'Visiting Safety Experience VR' at National Life Safety Forum Seminar

On the 25th, the Korea Safety Education Association (President Jeong Seong-ho, hereinafter referred to as the Association) attended and presented at the online seminar on ‘Life Safety and Virtual Reality Content Technology (VR, AR)’ held in Pangyo.

Lee Hyun-young, the team leader of the Association who gave the presentation, explained that the VR-based experiential learning method under the theme of ‘Visiting VR Safety Education’ can significantly increase learners’ concentration and immersion compared to lecture-style (rote theoretical) education methods. She also emphasized the importance of ‘experiential VR safety education,’ stating that experiential learning methods are more effective in securing the ability to respond to situations occurring in the actual field.

She also shared opinions on the current status and prospects of VR-based safety education content, stating, “To apply VR-based experiential safety education content in school settings, high-quality content development following the development of VR HMD devices, as well as customized safety education suitable for school environments, must be implemented.”

The Association independently develops VR safety education content in various fields such as life safety, traffic safety, disaster safety, and industrial safety, operating ‘Visiting VR Safety Education’ and numerous ‘School Safety Education’ programs. Through experiential safety education enjoyed in virtual reality, learners are trained to quickly respond based on prior experience when safety accidents occur.

Furthermore, the Association collaborates with companies in various safety-specialized fields to develop technologies related to better life safety prevention services and is also exploring various improvement measures for public safety.

President Jeong Seong-ho of the Association stated, “Currently, the Association is focusing on continuously developing VR content for public safety education,” adding, “We will do our best to further strengthen content development for safety education tailored to vulnerable groups.”

Meanwhile, the Association is expanding its business in various ways, including building experience centers using self-developed VR content. Detailed information about the Association’s safety education and VR content development can be found on the Association’s website, and inquiries related to education can be made by phone.
